Controller at our Walkerton, Indiana location (90 miles east of
Chicago). Polygon's vision is to be the preeminent supplier of

Polygon's innovative approach and technical expertise drives the

vision, the Company is seeking to hire a Controller to manage all
accounting and financial reporting activities.
The Controller will report to the VP Finance and lead the
accounting function within the organization, providing thought
provoking insights to the senior leadership team. The position will
also support Polygon's vision by providing excellent accounting and
financial reporting, insight, and scalability to enable effective
strategic planning and expedient decision-making for the benefit of
all stakeholders. The Controller will support Polygon's culture by
working collaboratively and respectfully to manage these key
functions and to develop skillsets within the team.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct management responsibility for Accounts Payable (A/P),
Accounts Receivable (A/R), and the general accounting function.
Ensure active collection efforts are being maintained to
appropriately manage DSO with the customer relationship at the
forefront.
Ensure the appropriate three-way match is being maintained for the
procure to pay process.
Responsible to manage the Company's fixed assets from acquisition
through disposal, while coordinating with the FP&A department
on construction in progress (CIP) to determine when projects should
be capitalized.
Develop and maintain cost accounting processes, including but not
limited to standard cost updates, physical inventory verification,
and periodic cycle counts.
Ownership and active role in the month end close process, ensuring
all general ledger data is accurately reflected in the system of
record.
Manage daily cash function.
Purchase accounting, when applicable
Preparation of the monthly financial statements, providing insights
into key drivers of variances to plan and prior year, along with
aiding in crafting the narrative of the happenings of the
month.
Develop and maintain KPI reporting that is valuable for the
organization, including but not limited to DSO, DPO, DIO, etc.
Maintain the cash forecast process and reporting. Provide insights
regarding cash position to improve net working capital for the
organization.
Manage the annual audit process.
Compile reports and schedules for the bi-annual business valuation
process.
Preparation of debt compliance reports, when applicable.
Collaborate with operations, sales, and administrative functions to
refine accounting processes and provide insights to make informed
business decisions.
Drive continuous improvement within the accounting department to
optimize insights provided to the organization and to reduce the
month end close cycle.
COLLABORATION WITH MANAGEMENT
This position involves an extremely high level of transactional
activity with communication as follows:
- VP Finance - daily interaction to discuss strategic projects for
the organization, status of close, and insights into the
business.
- FP&A - consistent collaboration with FP&A to drive value
for internal customers and ensure all items are appropriately
recorded and planned for.
- Operations - consistent collaboration related to inventory,
ad-hoc projects, understanding shipments that have been received
and coordination of paperwork until processes can be automated.
- Procurement - understanding outstanding PO's to complete the
procure-to-pay cycle and ensure all accruals are accounted for at
month-end, and payables processes are optimized.
- Human Resources - coordination of processing payroll related
transactions into the general ledger.
- Business Development/Sales - regular communication with sales
representatives of past due customer accounts to best maintain a
positive relationship while continuing to achieve DSO goals.
- VP of Strategy and Transformation - regular communication to
support business initiatives along with communicating cross
functional needs to optimize accounting processes.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
with at least five years' experience in accounting or financial
operations roles; public accounting experience is desired. The
ideal candidate will demonstrate strong accounting, communication,
and problem-solving skills, and must be able to manage multiple
projects simultaneously.
