Band of Potawatomi is searching for a full-time Revenue Cycle
Manager for their multi-disciplinary Tribal Health Clinic in
Dowagiac, MI. The Revenue Cycle Manager will support and
participate with leadership in facilitating processes, systems, and
procedures to ensure compliance and necessary changes in the tribal
healthcare environment that impact revenues. They will optimize the
healthcare revenue cycle process, including registration, health
information management, charge capture, charge posting and remit,
denials, statements, and payor credentialing. As a member of the

community in Southwest Michigan for a number of years and has a
robust leadership team with many years of experience to support
operations. New facility - Pokagon Health Services was built in
2014 and expanded to almost double its size in 2019. The facility
houses a pharmacy, primary care clinic, dental clinic, behavioral
health clinic as well as an administration wing. An on site
wellness center is available to all employees. Relocation fees -
competitive with area practices.Duties:Essential Functions: Provide
the overall direction, coordination, evaluation, coaching, and
development of staff.This includes interviewing, hiring, orienting,
and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
providing timely feedback, appraising performance, and providing
professional development opportunities; and rewarding and
disciplining employees.Proactively address and resolve staff
concerns and explore and implement methods and procedures for
improving departmental workflow and service to Tribal Citizens.
Directly oversee Medical and Occupational Health billing and
processes; provide support for Dental and Pharmacy billing as well
as all other revenue generating components of the Department of
Health Services. Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and
insurance carrier guidelines related to documentation and coding.
Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and analyze billing
components. Monitor submitted claims, unpaid claims, initiate
tracers and ensure that rejected claims are resubmitted as
necessary. Provide technical assistance to providers and staff on
billing, coding, credentialing, and payor guidelines to maximize
revenue capture. Manage revenue cycle and develop process flow
improvements for all related functions from front-end to back-end.
Work directly with government and commercial carriers to ensure
appropriate payments, timely payments, and understanding of current
payment policies. Review and analyze the fee schedule and implement
updates based on changes in the reimbursement environment and other
relevant factors. Track, analyze and report healthcare revenue
cycle key performance indicators. Communicate performance measures
and expectations to all employees involved in revenue cycle
activity, provide feedback and support, and ensure proper training
and tools for employees to perform work duties effectively. Drive
improvement initiatives in billing strategies, minimize bad debt,
manage claim denials and accounts receivables, and conduct internal
audits. Monitor and enforce internal financial policies and
procedures for the department and participate in budget formulation
and monitoring and provide annual budget revenue assumptions.
Monitor budget expenditures and recommend changes to the Director
of Health Services. Assist department supervisors in grant budget
formulation and provide oversight to the tracking of grant revenues
and expenses. Assist Department Director in liaising with local,
state, and federal departments to leverage Tribal healthcare
billing and grant resources and
policies.Qualifications:Requirements: Bachelor's degree in
finance/accounting, healthcare management, business administration
or related field from an accredited institution whose program of
study has been recognized by the Council for Higher Education
Accreditation or the United States Department of Education, plus
two (2) years revenue cycle management experience or a combination
of years of education and revenue cycle management experience to
equal no less than six (6) years. Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of current ICD, third-party billing practices and
healthcare compliance guidelines and regulatory standards required.
Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills;
and the ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and
respond to questions. Proficiency with MS office applications is
required and knowledge of EPIC, Computer RX, Eaglesoft and Fuse
preferred. Experience working in Tribal Healthcare preferred.Work
