The American Association of Endodontists (AAE) and Foundation
for Endodontics (AAEF) are dedicated to the excellence in the art
and science of endodontics and to the highest standard of patient
care. The Association inspires its members to pursue professional
advancement and personal fulfillment through education, research,
advocacy, leadership, communication, and service.The AAE is
currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join our team, due
to the announced retirement of our current incumbent CFO. This is a
key role that sets the strategic direction and is accountable and
responsible for both the association's Accounting/Finance and
Information Technology departments.What You'll Do:
- Directly supervise the Assistant Executive Director,
Information Technology and Director, Financial Services; Overall
responsibility for a combined Acct/IT staff of 6.Finance/Accounting
- Serve as a trusted and strategic partner to the Executive
Director, volunteer stakeholders, and staff.
- Oversee the management of the Association's and Foundation's
financial reporting to maintain financial transparency. Direct the
asset management, monthly financial statement preparation, analysis
reports, and year-end audit.
- Oversee all accounting revenue and expense cycle
operations.
- Create financial dashboards and analysis.
- Direct the banking and investment operations to adhere to
investment policy statements and fiduciary oversight.
- Direct the preparation and development of the annual budget and
individual department budgets.
- Ensure alignment of operations to achieve goals/targets and
incorporation of strategic initiatives in annual budget.
- Prepare a projection of financial trends and be proactive about
suggesting course corrections.
- Direct the business and financial affairs of the
Association/Foundation, including, but not limited to effectiveness
of procedures and systems; appropriateness of product/service
pricing; purchases; contract analysis; analysis of proposals for
product/service endorsement; timely receipt and reconciliation of
royalties.
- Ensure efficient office administration by maintaining accurate
records and compliance with records retention requirements.
- Serve as the staff financial liaison to the AAE and AAEF Boards
and other committees as assigned. Serve as liaison to the
respective Budget and Finance Committees. Ensure association-wide
adherence to procurement and contract approval policies.Information
Technology
- Oversee technology services ensuring efficiency and
effectiveness of AAE/Foundation operations.
- Provide strategic direction for digital business operations,
ensuring alignment of information systems and technology
infrastructure with strategic goals.
- Partner with constituents on strategic IT solutions to address
business challenges, leveraging the use of systems and data to
their maximum potential.
- Ensure high performance and secure systems, databases, and
networks; manage organizational technology risks.What we offer:

forefront of the dental health arena through securing

support research, generate new knowledge, and enhance endodontic
education. The foundation has an endowment fund of approximately

- Genuine and deep-rooted ethical approach to all business
matters.
- Ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks and apply
project management techniques within organizational
guidelines.
- Extensive knowledge of association management; familiarity with
foundation management and financial dynamics.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
for non-profit organizations.
- Extensive knowledge of Great Plains, accounting procedures and
policies, financial management, and budgeting. Familiarity with
Nimble AMS, Concur and Vivid would-be a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and association management
software and databases.
- Highly developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication
skills; excellent presentation skills. Ability to communicate at
all levels with staff, Board of Directors and Trustees, and
external relationships in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of 501(c) 3 and (c) 6 tax and accounting principles.
- Excellent management of relationships with banks and investment
advisors and auditors.
- Knowledge of facilities management and occupancy leases.
- Knowledge of organizational risk management and insurance
strategies.
- Knowledge of planning, development, implementation,
maintenance, and security of the information systems and processes
including computer, communication, and office
systems.Experience/Education :
- Ten years of experience in executive and staff management with
a proven track record of success.
- Degree in accounting and/or financial management required.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- CAE preferred.
- Experience developing a system of internal controls.
- Experience managing and developing people.
