The South Bend Tribune in northern Indiana, part of the USA Today
network, is looking for an enterprising and digitally focused
reporter who is ready to tackle a wide range of local news stories
and help us grow our readership.
You will be responsible for covering investigative/watchdog
stories, breaking news and in-depth features. We want someone with
the ability to dig out stories and then aggressively chase them.
You will be expected to constantly seek out topics and issues that
resonate with our local audience. A major focus of the job will be
covering our primary county, St. Joseph County, including
government actions, politics, topical issues, features and
profiles. But the reporting could also extend to other areas,
including business, housing and the University of Notre Dame, among
others.
At The Tribune, we pride ourselves on relevant, hard-hitting local
coverage that resonates with readers on all platforms. We're
looking for someone who is ready to tackle a wide range of stories,
embrace our digital focus and produce first-rate journalism. The
ability to work closely with a team, as well as a strong social
media presence, are musts.
This is a chance to make your mark in local news coverage, build a
strong portfolio and collaborate with Gannett's other Indiana news
organizations, including the Indy Star.
