This role in summary
Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Manager,
Engineering opening to join our Refrigeration group. This role will
be located at our Benton Harbor, MI location.
Employees in this role can work a hybrid schedule of three core
days in office and two days remote. This enables employees to come
together to collaborate in-person and gives employees the added
flexibility to work remotely
Your responsibilities will include
Responsible for global ice & water attribute roadmap, including ice
& water test specification update & release, competency training
material preparation, ice & water innovation management, and
university collaboration in ice & water advance projects
Lead key advance development projects for the innovation of ice &
water system
Design for cooling & ice making systems in refrigeration. Validate
the performance with experiential testing and simulation tools.
Work with the suppliers to develop the capability of performance
and quality delivery for the ice-making system.
Work with a cross-functional team to ensure integration at product
level and manufacturing.
Define ice & water system level design requirements and DFMEA.
Conducting technical design reviews for generated concepts.
Get component & system level approval for new concepts from
internal product approval, safety & codes team also from external
agencies if required.
Drive projects till implementation with help of counterparts at
manufacturing locations in North America region
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's Degree Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
6+ years of engineering experience in commercial or home
appliances
Preferred skills and experiences
Master's or PHD in Mechanical Engineering
OPEX Black Belt
Experience in Project Management
Experience using CAD
Knowledge of Ice & Water system design
Knowledge of Cooling system design
