Whirlpool is looking for a Community Manager to join Project X, their innovative creative team that is reimagining the way consumers interact with their brand. From the dream builders and problem slayers, to the operational masters and data maestros, to the magic makers... we want you!

Project X is leading the work for iconic brands like JennAir, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana and more. This highly visible, business-critical division will be heavily invested in increasing the total output of campaigns, content, analytics, design, experiences, digital tools and service innovations. At the edge of the Chicago Riverwalk, Project X's North American headquarters is located in the historic Reid Murdoch Building .

In this role, you will be equal parts social strategist and community manager. You should know how to grow and engage an audience (social media) and get a conversation started around our brand values (community). You'll be perfect for this role if you take initiative, love to brainstorm, and have a genuine interest in storytelling and content. We're looking for someone who knows how to create human interactions through a brand and drive the Desired Consumer Experience. You'll be responsible for planning and executing best-in-class social media and working closely with the Creative team to deliver holistic strategies, while driving the online social communities for our brands. You will also work within blended teams consisting of customer experience, media experts, data and analytics specialists, strategists, and technologists to help inform and improve the experiences we deliver to our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, optimize, and monitor effective social media campaigns to reach campaign KPIs and drive business growth across Whirlpool brands
  • Take the lead in holistic social implementation, including creative recommendations, copy, and posting cadence
  • Conduct frequent reporting and analysis, and develop insights that drive paid social strategies and next steps
  • Manage online communities and drive engagement and positive sentiment for Whirlpool brands
  • Manage social performance forecasting, budgeting process, and allocation with client and Project X stakeholders
  • Perform monthly budget reconciliation and invoicing
  • Maintain a high level of quality assurance while holding the team accountable for delivering campaigns and execution with precision
  • Lead active knowledge sharing within the Project X team
  • Observe and report on social, economic, and political trends that might impact customers and our brands
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor Degree
    • 5+ years of in-house or agency experience in social media marketing with responsibility for developing content that drives measurable audience growth and engagement
    • Experience across all social platforms, including: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and LinkedIn
    • Experience in scoping projects, providing forecasts, and driving ongoing process improvement
    • Experience in managing and driving online social communities
      Preferred Requirements:
      • Experience in crisis management or community escalation where required
      • Effective at project management and ability to organize and re-prioritize, while operating within a fast-paced environment and maintaining attention to detail
      • Passion for visual content and storytelling specifically on social; an understanding of how to leverage existing assets and a strong narrative to create engaging micro-content quickly
      • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and make smart, fast decisions
      • Stellar communication and presentation skills - you're poised, articulate, and convincing
      • Ability to work well in a team, shine as an individual, and maintain a sense of humor
      • Passion for understanding the customer, listening to what the community has to say, and engaging with them in creative ways
      • High comfort level with data and the ability to monitor, analyze, and interpret social media metrics and transform those insights into new opportunities
      • Experience in managing communities (on Slack, Facebook, etc.) - bonus points if you've helped to build a community from scratch
