Job Description:
Summary:The IT Business Systems Manager is responsible for the
management of all business systems/applications used by the company
in all functional areas including ERPs, CRM, online applications
and shopfloor systems. This role is responsible for delivering high
quality, high value business solutions while controlling costs.The
Business Systems manager is responsible for establishing and
maintaining positive business relationships throughout the business
community. Their focus is to consistently add value back to the
business by leveraging their knowledge and experience to provide
solid business solutions in alignment with business objectives.This
position requires knowledge of and experience in the following
areas:Business System / Application Software Management:o Develop
and execute a comprehensive Business System strategy aligned with
business goals and growth planso Evaluate existing applications,
identify areas for enhancement, scalability improvements, and cost
optimizationso Collaborate with senior management to define
business system roadmaps and make strategic decisions regarding
application investments using cost/benefit analysis for new
application and functionality requestso Provide oversite and
direction to the rollout of the Dynamics 365 ERP softwareo Provide
information and recommendations regarding emerging technologies and
automation that may increase efficiency and/or reduce operating
costs o Collaborate with the business to establish data retention
policies and procedures that meet company and governmental
requirementso Establish and lead system end-of-life procedures for
the data offload and shut down of legacy systems no longer in
service.Business System Support:o Design and provide structured
approach with effective processes to deliver application and
business process support, ensuring timely and effective resolution
of user functional/technical issues and inquirieso Lead the
business system support teams in responding to and resolving
incidents, and user issues promptly and effectivelyo Establish and
enforce service level agreements (SLAs) for response and resolution
times, maintaining high user satisfactionEnd User Support and
Satisfaction:o Manage and drive the applications support teams to
provide top-tier user support, effectively addressing technical
issues and maintaining strong user relationshipso Collaborate with
other departments to identify recurring issues and propose
long-term solutionsTeam Leadership and Building Effective Teams:o
Provide strong leadership and mentorship to a team of business
system support staffo Foster a collaborative team culture,
encouraging professional growth, knowledge sharing, and continuous
improvemento Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide
constructive feedback to team membersBusiness System Deployment and
Security:o Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance and
support of company business systems, including all ERPs, web
applications, shopfloor systems, system integrations (including
EDI), data analytic and reporting tools o Ensure secure access and
control over company data through application security and regular
reviews of system access leveraging commonly held IT governance
procedureso Collaborate cross-functionally to plan and execute
software and application projects, upgrades, migrations, and
disaster recovery strategiesVendor Management and Budgeting:o
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee
procurement of business system services and products
Administration:o Monitor and manage the IT Business Systems budget,
optimizing expenditure while ensuring service qualityo Apply
Cost/benefit analysis calculations to all IT investment proposals
that assure business valueo IT Governance - Maintain generally
accepted computing controls and related IT policies and procedures
as set by the leadershipCompetencies: (five most important)--

Education & Experience: -- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
MIS, or other related technical degree; MBA preferred -- 5+ years
of IT leadership role experience -- Solid organizational and
leadership skills -- Strong understanding of business processes,
data flow and reengineering methodologies -- Knowledge of SDLC
(software development lifecycle management) and software selection
procedures to assure business requirements are met -- Experience in
manufacturing and metals industry a plus -- Ability to work
harmoniously and effectively as a leader Exceptional communication,
negotiation, and interpersonal skills
