Position Summary:

Ed Miniat LLC is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager ready to make an impact. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, innovative, and willing to drive cost savings and continuous improvement anywhere a check is written within the organization. This position is ideal for a hard-working, performance driven, strategic leader looking to grow his or her career with a fast-growing company.

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for strategic sourcing activities, with a specific focus on the indirect procurement category (spices and ingredients, corrugated, film, janitorial, etc.). The ideal candidate shall have previously demonstrated best industry practices with regard to sourcing strategy development and execution. Included in these functions will be a full range of duties, including but not limited to the following:

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Lead the planning, sourcing, negotiating and procurement of indirect materials using a strategic sourcing model to ensure buys are optimized, competitive and price advantageous

  • Drive and work collaboratively on cross-functional strategic initiatives (including Supply Chain, HR, Maintenance, QA, Operations, Product Development, Finance)

  • Develop strategic sourcing initiatives and best procurement practices aimed at developing lowest total delivered costs

  • Own all activities related to the RFP process including supplier research, RFP creation, submissions, timelines, total cost of ownership analysis, contract and term negotiation with final recommendation and next steps

  • Analyze safety stock levels and inventory turns of all indirect materials based upon production demand, lead times, sales forecasts, market conditions, seasonality, etc. to ensure supply while optimizing spend, freight and cost of storage

  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with both US based suppliers and international suppliers

  • Initiate key performance indicators, reporting on KPI's monthly

  • Organize, prepare and package strategic and analytical insights in to clear, concise and executive ready presentations

  • Communicate findings to senior management and the broader organization, influencing upwards and laterally to drive strategic sourcing and cost saving initiatives

  • Seek opportunities for cross-functional business improvement and efficiencies

  • Serve as a liaison between suppliers and production in the resolution of sourcing and supply issues, including the processing of product quality claims, gathering and compiling data, analyzing for trends and implementing a robust Root Cause Failure Analysis Corrective Action process

  • Assist and provide comprehensive back-up and support on other procurement and supply chain related functions as needed or requested

      Requirements:


      • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field / or related work experience

      • 3 to 5 years of procurement and strategic sourcing experience

      • Demonstrate steady progression of growth in responsibility including management experience

      • Working knowledge of supply markets and forecasting demand including familiarity with procurement, logistics, and inventory management

      • Strong analytical skills, negotiation skills, problem solving, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships with both internal and external customers

      • Travel required 10% of the time

Holding self and others accountable for achieving the envisioned results despite challenge and adversity.
