cornerstone of our organization.Job SummaryResponsible for the
management of all medical records both in paper and electronic
format in accordance with established procedures and as directed by
Director of Quality and Regulatory or designee.Key
Responsibilities-- Responsible for maintaining all medical records
within HIPAA standards and regulatory compliance-- Accurately scans
all required documents in the electronic medical record (EMR)--
Closes EMR for all disenrollment's and deaths-- Maintains
participant demographic information in electronic medical record at
time of enrollment and ongoing-- Ensures accuracy and maintenance
of comprehensive EMR-- Contacts service providers to obtain all
required medical records or data for all participants-- Collects
hospitalizations and ER data-- Assists with internal medical
records audits-- Audits monthly reports for verification of
enrollment status-- Abides by all confidentiality requirements as
they relate to the release of protected health information-- Active
participation in quality process-- Collect TROOP in letters for
enrolling participants-- Abides by all established PACE of
Southwest Michigan policies, rules and regulations-- All other
duties as assignedSkills and Knowledge-- High level of autonomy is
required for completing key responsibilities-- Working knowledge of
EMR systems or similar database systems-- Experienced use with
Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)-- Excellent attention to
details-- Excellent organizational skills-- Excellent verbal and
written communication skills-- Ability to work a flexible work
schedule-- Able to work within the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT)
setting-- Able to utilize basic computer skills in the
workplace
Requirements:
SpecificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
required. Associates degree in Medical Records or Health
Information Technology preferred or post-Secondary education in
Business, or health-related field with experience in medical
records.Experience: Administrative experience required. Medical
terminology, EMR experience and Registered Health Information
Technician preferred.Number/Type of Employees Supervised:
NoneLicensure, Registry, or Certification Required: Valid MI
Driver's License preferred.Special Training: Only acts within scope
of practice. Meet a standardized set of orientation and/or
individual competencies for the specific position description
established by PACE of Southwest Michigan and approved by CMS
before working independently.Immunizations: Be medically cleared
for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up to date
before engaging in direct participant contact.Specific Requirements
and Considerations: May be subject to exposure and handling of
infectious waste, diseases, conditions or hazardous chemicals,
etc., including potential exposure to TB, AIDS, and/or Hepatitis
