Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum of 18 months in acute care settings License: IN or compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Candidates must have solid neuro experience. Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Floating is required within the facility or to nearby affiliates. Description: This is a mixed acuity unit comprised of both medical surgical and progressive levels of care. The unit provides care for medical patients with some requiring progressive care. Areas of care include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary. The nurse-to-patient ratio for medical/surgical patients is 1:5-6, and for progressive care unit patients, it is 1:3-4. Nurses will manage drips, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin. Unstable strokes and patients on BiPap will be seen. Candidates will be expected to adapt to a dynamic care environment.
