Join our healthcare team and make a difference in cardiac and stroke patient care.\n \n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details\n \n Location: South Bend, Indiana 46601\n Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract\n Unit: 7th Floor Intermediate Cardiac/Stroke Unit\n Shift: 3x12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)\n Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)\n Hours per Week: 36\n Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n Patient Ratio: 1:4 (nights may be 1:5)\n Charting System: Cerner EMR\n Scrub Color: Royal Blue or White\n Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1890 - $1940\n \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending accepted, must be active prior to start)\n At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or intermediate care nursing\n Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS\n Strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation and response (must pass Tele Rhythm Identification Quiz)\n Experience administering cardiac drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix)\n Proven experience with stroke and telemetry patients\n Willingness to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed\n Must reside at least 50 miles from South Bend, IN (local candidates not accepted)\n COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)\n Preferred: Cerner charting experience\n \n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n \n Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy cardiac stepdown/intermediate care unit\n Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias\n Administer and manage cardiac drips (no titration required)\n Care for patients with telemetry, stroke, CHF, chest pain, myocardial infarction (MI), syncope, hypertension, and overdose diagnoses\n Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy\n Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed\n Accurately document patient care using Cerner electronic medical records\n Complete orientation and required modules prior to assignment start\n \n Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse in South Bend, Indiana, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
