Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: South Bend, IN Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,272 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/19/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year (Preferred 2 years) License: Active prior to start date Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry and cardiac/stroke experience Description: Position is for the 7th Floor Intermediate Unit. All nurses must be proficient in reading, identifying, and reacting to cardiac rhythms. Understanding rhythms is crucial for patient health. Shift consists of 3x12-hour nights from 19:00 to 07:30. There are no call requirements. Every other weekend is required. Floating to like or lesser units may be necessary. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5. Cardiac drip experience is required. Experience with drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Lasix is needed. The unit has beds that accommodate hemodialysis conducted by an outside company. All modes of oxygenation, except vents, are utilized. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and social services. The unit has a daily census of approximately 36 patients. Common patient diagnoses include telemetry, stroke, congestive heart failure (CHF), chest pain, myocardial infarction (MI), and hypertension (HTN). The environment is high acuity and very busy, primarily serving adult and geriatric populations. Some specialized procedures may be performed within the unit. All travelers must maintain professional conduct, as any issues may result in termination. The unit adheres to a maximum of 10 days of requested time off (RTO). Valid state licenses must be active or pending before the start date. Applicants will complete necessary modules prior to the beginning of the assignment. Charting system experience is required.
