Psychiatry opening in Defiance, Ohio Located 50m to Toledo, 45m
to Fort Wayne, IN Position Details Full-time Permanent Employed
Small critical-access hospital in Northwest Ohio 10 inpatient
Psychiatric beds Inpatient and Outpatient mix The average length of
stay for inpatients is 3-4 days Behavioral Health Practice offers:
Outpatient New Evaluations-1 hr. Outpatient Medication Management
visits- 30 min Neuropsych evals./med management Office hours are
M-Friday, with patient hours being 8:30-5p Cross cover with
Inpatient weekend on call- Friday 5p-Monday 8a (usually 1 weekend a
month) Cross cover of weekly inpatient call and hospital consults
PHP- program is currently being re-evaluated with potential move to
IOP program Outpatient therapy- children through geriatrics The
practice model for the inpatient unit is set up according to state
rules. Psychiatrists are responsible for completing a psychiatric
evaluation within 24 hours of admission and managing psychiatric
medications. Rounds must be completed every 24 hours for
inpatients. Programs for inpatients are scheduled in order to help
patients gain further coping skills. Groups are facilitated by
Social Service, Recreational Therapists, Psychologist, or Nursing.
The treatment team consists of Psychiatrists, Nursing, Social
Service, and Recreational Therapists. EPIC - Electronic Medical

organizations for optimal patient care The majority of inpatients
are admitted through our Emergency Center, but referrals also come
from facilities in a 50-mile radius. Average 1-3 medical
