Registered Nurse (RN) | Psych Location: Grand Rapids, MI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,969 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health - Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of behavioral health experience required License: State license in nursing Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health experience Description: The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for performing the nursing process as a basis for patient care. Registered Nurses provide direction and oversight to both licensed and non-licensed staff. Registered Nurses demonstrate compassion to recipients of services, coworkers, and surrounding communities through integrity, stewardship, empowerment, the promotion of diversity, and professional excellence. The Registered Nurse must demonstrate excellent customer service and have enthusiasm for the program and organization. Principal duties include assessing patients' care needs, developing a plan of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and continuously reassessing the plan according to patient needs. In collaboration with physicians, nursing care is provided and coordinated for individuals and groups. Education is provided to patients and their families, along with milieu management. Clear communication occurs with patients and their families regarding discharge and aftercare planning needs. A safe and secure environment is maintained for patients and staff in both individual and group settings. The Registered Nurse is responsible for documenting, reporting, and verifying all necessary information according to established policies and procedures. Monitoring for and reporting any potential risks to patient safety that could lead to adverse outcomes is essential. A customer-friendly environment is created by following quality improvement standards and maintaining professionalism. Positive relationships with departments, coworkers, and external customers are initiated and maintained. Care is provided in various clinical settings with diverse populations. Specific patient needs are identified and compassionate, patient-centered care is implemented. The Registered Nurse functions as a clinical leader, delegating and coordinating staff assignments while promoting staff development. Continuous review of patient care protocols, standards of practice, and standards of care is conducted. Input into process improvement is provided, and careful use of resources is promoted. Training of direct care staff may be part of the role. There may be indirect oversight of medication and physical health activities within the program. Responsibilities may include scheduling, staffing, and obtaining pre-authorization. The Registered Nurse is expected to role model the mission and values of the organization, projecting a professional image in appearance, attitudes, behaviors, time management, and communication skills. Spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support is provided to patients. In community residential settings, support and promotion of a recovery-focused environment and patient-centered approach are required. Commitment to demonstrating the Hospital and Residential Services Model of Care is essential. The Registered Nurse upholds the healing mission through relationships that honor integrity, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, equity, inclusion, and professional excellence. Annual training is maintained, and competency in required programmatic training is demonstrated. Other duties or functions may be assigned as required.
