Familiarity with Cerner charting Description: This is a telemetry
nursing position in a cardiovascular unit. The unit is a 54-bed
cardiac unit, primarily focused on cardiac telemetry. Patients are
monitored continuously, with many on cardiac monitors. Common
patient populations include those with heart failure, heart
attacks, and strokes requiring monitoring. Nurses may also care for
overflow medical patients when necessary. The nurse-to-patient
ratio typically ranges from 1:5 to 1:6, but can increase based on
staffing levels. Call requirements are not part of this role.
Weekend work is required every other weekend. Holidays must be
covered in part, with a requirement to work two out of three
holidays. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but attempts will
be made to accommodate preferences. Travelers to this position must
be at least 50 miles away from the facility. Candidates will float
within the facility or to nearby affiliate locations as needed. The
role requires strong skills in managing cardiac drips and
monitoring dysrhythmias. The unit utilizes a variety of specialized
equipment and procedures related to cardiac care. Candidates should
be prepared for the responsibilities and standards of care expected
