Physician Recruiter - Primary Physician Network - Full Time - South Bend

Job Description:

Minimum: $29.17 - Maximum: $45.21 JOB SUMMARY Directs all activities related to physician recruitment for all SJRMC entities and SJPN including but not limited to monitoring needs, sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating on-site interviews, contracting and hiring, on-boarding new physicians and maintaining relationships. JOB DUTIES 1.--Actively demonstrates the organization's mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values. 2.--Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information. 3.--Monitors and maintains the database that addresses physician recruitment and retention for business and community needs. 4.--Generates candidate leads through available sources including direct mail, advertising, residency programs, websites, recruitment databases, recruitment firms, state/national medical organizations, job fairs and specialty meetings for review by department managers and/or practices. 5.--Screens potential candidates through telephone interviews and reference checking to assure an appropriate match with an identified need. 6.--Coordinates on-site interviews with managers and/or practices including travel, lodging, car rental, dinners and luncheons, facility and community tours and meetings with appropriate executives and key physicians. 7.--Serves as the liaison between contracting and employment, assuring the timely completion of the new hire paperwork and processes to meet credentialing and payor obligations. 8.--Assists new physicians with relocation, moving expenses, temporary housing and/or apartment hunting to assure a smooth transition to the community. 9.--Facilitates the on-boarding and orientation process to welcome new employed or non-employed physicians to the facility in conjunction with the Medical Staff Office. 10.--Maintains visibility with new and existing physicians through rounding meetings, planning and participating in medical staff functions/activities to foster and maintain positive physician relationships. Provides information about the hospital and services. Measure and evaluate activities and their affects. 11. Produce summaries, as needed, of physician interactions such as after phone calls, site visits and other encounters and distribute such summaries to appropriate parties. 12.--Participate in a variety of customer service measurements and functions, collecting, analyzing and sharing information with administrators 13.--Establish relationships with faculty and affiliated physicians, and develop strategies to support and improve customer base. 14.--Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing plans and business development plans 15.--Plans and participates in social and educational activities for the Family Practice Residency Program to encourage residents to practice in the community. 16.--Contributes to planning and marketing as a member of the Business Development Team to assure SJRMC's growth in the community. 17.--Prepares monthly reports on physician recruitment activities for Senior Leadership and the Board of Trustees to keep them apprised of recruitment progress. 18.--Performs other duties and activities as may be assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, marketing or a related area of graduate study preferred. Licensure: Credentials as a Certified Medical Staff Recruiter or Certified Medical Staff Coordinator is desired. Experience: 3 - 5 years experience in healthcare, of which at least 1 year in physician services, physician recruitment and/or physician practice management. Other Job Requirements: Must possess excellent communication and human relations skills. Must present a positive attitude and project a professional image. Must be able to listen well and follow-up with appropriate individuals to meet organization-wide objectives. Must also be results-oriented with strong people skills and be able to establish and maintain exceptional relationships with physicians and staff at all levels. Must be able to understand what data is necessary and be able to analyze data to make decisions that affect the hospital's physicians. Must be diplomatic and able to make quick decisions under pressure. Works independently with minimal supervision to achieve agreed upon outcomes.-- Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs.
