Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is seeking an experienced Material Expeditor to add to our Mobility Customer Service - Amtrak Venture Coach Team in Chicago, IL. The right person will be highly organized, have a great attention to detail and excellent communication and follow-up skills. The candidate will assist in process development and maintenance, continuous improvement activities, and operations support. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to succeed in a fast paced, fluid environment, while ensuring that project initiatives are met. You will assist the engineering and planning group in material-related issues and oversee warehouse activities throughout the project. This person will also build customer relationships through day-to-day interaction.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Ensure safe working environment.
• Assist with material identification/validation for maintenance.
• Expedite material need for low to no stock materials.
• Operational oversight of material and logistics for assigned project.
• Work with our customer for processing any claims and invoices.
• Coordinate with CS Material Planner and Central Warehouse for continued flow of standard fulfillment, emergency material needs and other material/logistics requirements.
• Handle performance metrics for stores teams, including but not limited to impact of material availability to fleet availability (LHFM, BAM, etc.).
• Ensure that defective core material is returned in a timely manner.
• Produce daily reports that allow back-order status to be evaluated.
• Participate in the creation of new project requirement documents and monitor their progress.
• Perform transactions in SAP/Salesforce/SharePoint as required.
• Assist customer with inventory cycle count activities.
• Communicate shipment progress/movement and other equipment related matters in a consistent and timely manner.
  
  To thrive in this role, you have:
  
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a material coordination.
  • ERP and/or MRP system knowledge and experience.
  • Strong experience in MS Office applications (i.e. Excel, Access, PPT, Word, TEAMS, Power BI, etc.).
  • Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • The ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload.
  • The ability to perform job duties with a sense of urgency and safety.
  • Required travel - Approx. 5%.
  • Setting you apart from others would be an Associate or Bachelor's degree with experience in managing conflicting metrics such as transportation costs and material availability and familiarity with LEAN and Six Sigma concepts. Experience with SAP would be a plus along with management experience. The preferred candidate will have experience in the railway industry or corresponding experience in a related field.

The base salary range for this position in Chicago IL is $71,900 - $84,500. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
