Receiving Inspection Quality Technician responsibilities include: Experience with basic measuring instruments (2D Vision systems, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators) Proficient with CMM programming using Zeiss Calypso (required) Set-up and check dimensions on parts, using metrology instruments, to ensure parts meet quality standards and that dimensions are accurate. Experience in leading and executing gauge studies such as Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility and Correlation Studies. Provides input on quality to product development teams. Skilled in advanced blueprint reading with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD) interpretation of bonus tolerances Participate in Corrective / Preventive Action teams to resolve customer, supplier, and production concerns. Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to quality and manufacturing functions. Review gauge nonconformances for potential effect to products Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools. (MINITAB and CAD software) Train Quality Inspectors and Operators on automated and manual measurement techniques, as well as CMM operation Assure compliance with regulations and promote good manufacturing and/or laboratory practices and good product quality engineering practices. Incumbent knows, understands, incorporates, and complies with all applicable laws and regulations relating to DePuy's business activities and Policies and Procedures of the Health Care Compliance Program and Code of Conduct. Functions as technical resource and "go-to" person regarding issues with stationary gauges and CMM's for the site. Maintains accurate inspection records, filing systems and appropriate documentation to conform to all quality and GMP regulations. Functions as a representative for the department during meetings Assist other areas within the facility as necessary. Assist engineers in Gage R studies, and Automated measurement equipment validations. Writes work instructions and confirms conformance to the job set up and communicates any criteria to the Customer Service and/or Training department Qualifications A minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent is required 5 years related experience in quality is required Experience working in both an FDA and European regulatory environment is preferred. Experience working in Receiving Inspection/manufacturing/operations is preferred. The ability to perform "hands on" troubleshooting and problem solving is required. Technical understanding of Receiving Inspection equipment and processes is preferred. Understanding of the NPI (New Product Introduction) process and Process Validation expertise is preferred. Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, skills. Ability to interact with, influence, and lead cross-functional, cross-business unit teams is required. Strong tactical planning and execution abilities, including strong organization skills is required. Experience taking initiative with innovative ways to problem solve in a fast-paced, changing business environment is required.
