We are looking for a motivated candidate who enjoys making a difference in the lives of others in their community.Keys Counseling is a proud member of the Refresh Mental Health Network; one of the largest and fastest growing private behavioral health companies in the US with over 1700 clinicians and 40 practices in 26 states. Our goal is to provide an excellent working environment and resources for clinicians, so they can focus on what they do best — providing exemplary care to clients.We are currently seeking a Co-Lead Educational Advocate to join our outstanding team in Keys Academy at our St. Joe office.The Co-Lead Educational Advocate is equally a teacher and caseworker. Collaborating with students and families within Keys Academy, this staff member connects the disparate elements of a child's educational experience, while simultaneously working to develop the skills required for successful participation in all parts of life. We provide high quality, family-centered, and culturally competent services to the adolescents and families we serve. They are effective in reducing maltreatment, improving coping skills, enhancing family resilience, supporting healthy and nurturing relationships, and enhancing children's physical, mental, emotional and educational well-being. All services are focused on helping clients return to their home school, assisting with credit recovery, earning high school credits or assisting them with the process of attaining their High School Equivalency (HSE).Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing academic assistance in both individual and small group settings within Keys Academy
  • Developing daily lesson plans to meet TT (Truancy Termination) standards and engaging positive group activities
  • Establishing open, engaged, and directed dialogue between clients, families, probation officers and school systems.
  • Attending case conferences and administrative meetings to advocate for student rights and ensure appropriate educational placement.
  • Building students' self-esteem by instilling an active sense of responsibility, initiative, and self-advocacy in the classroom.
  • Serving as part of a treatment team to develop and maintain goals in all life arenas.
  • Administering educational assessments and programming.
  • Attending team meetings and all required company and state trainings.
  • Expanding knowledge of, and showing fidelity to, IN State Service Standards for HB casework and tutoring services.
  • Maintaining working relationships with referral sources by promptly responding to all communication requests.
  • Maintaining professional boundaries with clients, families, and referral sources.
  • Adhering to scheduled weekly hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM
  • Following company policy and procedure related to reporting requirements for progress notes, monthly reports, and court reporting (e.g. meeting deadlines, and submitting thorough, high quality documentation)
  • Completing other duties as outlined by managementKeys Counseling:
    • Offers Medical, Vision and 401K Plans
    • PTO and Holiday pay
    • Promotes collaboration and communication amongst team members
    • Offers clinical support in the form of bi-weekly individual supervision, monthly regional and department meetings, and periodic staffings and in-service trainingsQualifications include but are not limited to the following:
      • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, sociology, or a directly-related human service field from an accredited college. (Other Bachelor's degrees will be accepted with a minimum of five years of experience working directly with families in the child welfare system.)
      • A valid driver's license and the ability to use private car to transport self and others, in compliance with state policy concerning minimum car insurance coverage.Preferred qualifications:
        • Teaching License or Certificate
        • Experience in a secondary education setting
        • Knowledge of Special Education and the implementation of IEPs.
