at home.This role in summaryThe Analytical Chemist will be
reporting to the Global Materials Validation Lab Manager as part of
Whirlpool's Materials Engineering department. The primary function
of this role is to apply advanced techniques and instrumentation to
complex materials, to provide critical chemical insight into raw
materials and components for Whirlpool globally.Your
responsibilities will includeExecute thorough and timely chemical
analysis to support new product launches, evaluate regulatory
compliance, deep dive on production quality projects or
contamination concerns, and other chemically complex areas as
needed.Provide precise, technically sound, carefully documented
output to process partners across organizations.Follow and/or
develop a new test methodology for complex chemical needs.Explain
complex chemical results clearly and concisely to a diverse range
of internal customers.Follow lab safety standards, 5S guidelines,
and best-in-class industry standards in chemical analysis.Minimum
requirementsBachelor's Degree in Chemistry and applied laboratory
experiencePreferred skills and experiencesBachelor's Degree in
Chemistry or a closely related science and relevant
experience.Self-directed work ethic and technical confidence as a
subject matter expert in applied chemistry.Applied experience in
polymer analysis preferred.Deep knowledge of chemical structures,
properties and interactions applied to raw materials for home
appliances including raw materials and processes, including metals,
resins, coatings, glass and steel.Lean 5S laboratory management
experience.Precise written and oral communication skills.Proficient
with Google software.Experience with some of the following
laboratory equipment: GC, IC, Microscopy, SEM-EDAX, FTIR, XRF, DSC,
TGA, DMA. Experience with Chromatography, Thermal Analysis,
Microscopy, Spectroscopy, in addition to basic material analysis is
desired.Project management experience and Opex training is a
