Job Summary

Provide leadership for all materials Team Members within the
materials department, on all shifts. Responsible for creation and
achievement of production schedules and posting of daily work
assignments. Serves as the driver behind product/process safety,
quality, delivery and morale.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
--- Provide leadership for all material Team Members within the
materials department, on all shifts. Supervises two or more Team
Members. --- Responsible for day-to-day supervision of Team
Members. Maintain all time, attendance, and disciplinary action
records for each direct report in a timely manner. --- Responsible
for day-to- day compliance and adherence to FDA QSR requirements.
--- Perform spot quality checks, 5S audits, Layered Process Audits.
--- Help drive/lead continuous improvement projects. --- Ensure
Team Members are up to date and trained to perform assigned
functions, including, but not limited to the areas of GMP, EHS and
Quality Systems. --- Ensure management is informed of all
significant developments regarding the operation. --- Ensure key
constraints are managed and properly staffed. --- Ensure product
flows at established lead-times through materials department. ---
Responsible for recruitment, development, promotion and
disciplinary actions of hourly Team Members. --- Responsible for
overall performance management for hourly Team Members, including
preparing and delivering annual performance reviews. --- Areas of
responsibility include, but may not be limited to, receipt and
stocking of inventory, processing customer returns, picking and
shipping outbound orders, supporting inventory control
best-practices, and often participating in or leading continuous
improvement activities. --- Collaborate with Inventory Control,
Customer Service, Planning, Quality Control, Sourcing, and
Operations to ensure timely and efficient completion of all
activities. --- Mainly work in Warehouse settings, also oversees
inventory control of material, movement of items between Warsaw
sites, managing assigned company vehicles, drivers and routes. ---
Responsible for overseeing receiving, storage, delivery, issue of
raw material and outside processing (OSP) orders and warehouse
personnel. May be responsible for Tool Crib and / or Scrap /
Salvage department --- Contact/resolve/counsel Team Members in
error remediation. --- Prepare/present routine reports as
instructed by Manager regarding performance in assigned
Department(s). --- Materials point person for product and process
knowledge for department. --- Point person for department for
facilities, Maintenance, HR, Quality and Engineering. --- Drive
corrections to solve issues and escalates when needed. --- Set
plans for department across all shifts. Set overtime needs. --- Set
staffing needs for department. Set cross training plans across all
shifts using training matrix method.
Expected Areas of Competence
--- Strong leadership and cross-functional skills;
leadership/management background; preferably in logistics areas
including shipping/receiving/distribution, and shipment/inventory
management within a medical device regulated environment. ---
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, including problem
identification, data gathering, solution development, and
implementation follow up. --- Leadership and motivational skills to
expedite completion of critical project tasks with other functional
groups. --- Must be able to work within a team environment not only
within the organization unit, but also across departments and
shifts. --- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing. --- Basic
understanding of quality systems. --- Ability to prioritize
personal workload to maintain company efficiencies - time
management skills. --- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally
and in writing, with all team members and management in a
professional manner.
Education/Experience Requirements
--- High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree a plus. ---
Minimum of 6 years combined industry (biomedical, medical device)
and/or military experience; or 8 years of combined industry,
military and/or related (general manufacturing, quality or
logistics) experience. --- A combination of education and
experience will be considered. --- 1 year of supervisory or
leadership experience required but 3+ years preferred; may include
military leadership experience.
