Job Description:

ClaimAid Patient Resource Advocates represent self-pay patients to
determine eligibility for medical coverage through a federal or

challenged to be your best? As a Patient Resource Advocate, you
will be required to possess or earn the Indiana Navigator License.
You will serve as an expert who is able to support individuals and
families by determining eligibility and enrolling them in
subsidized health care coverage. ClaimAid has a thorough training
program to prepare Advocates to obtain their Navigator license.

Primary Functions of a Patient Resource Advocate include (but are
not limited to):
Contact and interview patients and/or families to prepare
applications(s) for medical coverage.
Assist patients with obtaining the verifications and documentation
that are required to determine eligibility.
File timely, accurate, and complete applications to ensure coverage
for all dates of service.
Monitor and assist with the application process including attending
interviews, when necessary, to meet all deadlines.
Assist patient w/appeals when appropriate.
Document and update status within client and ClaimAid systems on a
regular basis.
Protect the confidentiality of patient information in compliance
with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications of a Patient Resource Advocate include (but are not
limited to):
Required: Must possess or be willing & able to obtain the Indiana
Navigator License
Preferred: Knowledge of eligibility policy rules and processing
requirements for programs administered by Indiana Family & Social
Services Administration (FSSA)
Preferred: Experience processing referrals and appeals with
Medicaid/Social Security Disability Insurance
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree
or equivalent business experience helpful
Must have strong organizational, investigative, analytical, and
judgment skills
Must have excellent spelling and grammar; good phone skills; basic
math skills; able to set priorities and meet deadlines; able to
multi-task; carefully proof your own work
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Must exhibit professional demeanor both on the phone and in
person
Must be able to occasionally travel to Indianapolis with the
potential of overnight stays
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Tools and type at least 40
words per minute
Physical Requirements of a Patient Resource Advocate include (but
are not limited to):
Adequate hearing & vision
Clear speaking
Adequate agility to bend, stand, walk, squat, etc.
Must meet relevant health screening requirements
