POSITION SUMMARY
A Quality Intern is a detail oriented problem solver, facilitator,
auditor, metrologist and technical resource. Responsible for
performing these functions daily, and on issues as they are
assigned (or arise), in assigned areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs measurements of Lozier product for use of statistical
analysis to ensure process capability.
- May assist in the analysis of fit, form and function of parts
by conducting capability studies to ensure process capability.
- Conducts daily audits of production processes to ensure proper
inspection of products, and the correct inspection documentation by
process operators.
- Assists other departments with any quality related questions,
or issues, as needed.
- Able to review and interpret product drawings for production
related questions, issues, and training for production employees as
needed.
- Participates in Process, Part and System continuous improvement
projects.
- Demonstrates good problem solving skills, with knowledge of
PDCA type problem solving techniques beneficial.
- Reject any product not meeting inspection requirements, and
communicate to all appropriate personal all details involved with
reject transactions.
- Calibrates inspection gages using the appropriate measuring
equipment, with completed documentation for each calibration.
- Able to coordinate with multiple departments and individuals on
any Quality problems, such as rejected product.
- Demonstrates regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to
work, meetings, and completing assignments.
- Ability to work and interact well with others. JOB
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: College student of at least sophomore standing,
Engineering, Safety, Quality or related field.
Experience: None.
Required Skills:
- Ability to use measuring tools - calipers, micrometers, tape
measure and various electronic meters
- Intermediate communication skills, both written and verbal
- Intermediate orgianization skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering
drawings/specifications Special Demands
- Ability to bend, squat, reach and climb
- Ability to navigate the manufacturing floor to work with
process operators and monitor process performance
- Ability to visually recognize color
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for using gauges
and measuring instruments
