SUMMARY This job is considered to be a hands-on Supervisory duty
and assistance to the Production Manager. It includes directing job
assignments and providing technical hands-on leadership to the
production staff. This position is responsible for conveying a
professional attitude towards other employees while recognizing the
responsibility to meet production schedules and customer quality
standards. Another key aspect of this position is training new
employees on specific work activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The
Supervisor is responsible for the following activities/duties:
Safety, Health and Quality: Comply, maintain and enforce all
Company Policies, Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMPs). Comply, maintain and enforce Company Safety Standards.
Comply, maintain and enforce Company Quality Standards: Product
Yield Customer Product Specification Comply, maintain and enforce
Company Sanitation Standards. Report any quality issues to the
Production Manager. Conduct any necessary activity to ensure an
efficient, safe and quality process. Inspect and approve Quality
specifications (raw products, components, packaging or labels).
Monitor the quality of all production processes in their assigned
area. Production: Oversee and maintain Productivity and Cost
Standards: Throughput (Expected Pound/Case per hour). Performance
(producing according to target). Machine Changeover time. Downtime.
Labor overtime. Monitor and control product waste. Ensure that line
employees follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Ensure the
on-time delivery of Finished Products. Maintain inventory and
replenishment of all production supplies (raw products, add-ons,
components, containers, trays, film or labels). Assist in running
and troubleshooting production jobs. Workforce Management: Conduct
Safety and Orientation trainings to new employees. Conduct or
Reinforce training for employees on operational procedures. Report
to Production Manager, line employees' absences, tardiness,
accidents, infractions of company policy and procedures or any
other employee problems. Monitor employee's compliance on lunch
time and breaks. Ensure that line employees use proper
clothing/equipment to perform their job. Maintain a high degree of
employee morale in the area. Work closely with peers to develop
good team working relationship and cross shift team relationships.
Conduct performance appraisals and communicate information to
senior management. Continuous Improvement (CI): Ensure area/line
adheres to implemented CI tools or methods (5S, Kanban, Kaizen,
Takt Time, SMED, TPM, Visual Management, etc.). Report reoccurring
issues to Production Supervisor or Manager. Support Production
Supervisor or Manager in CI activities (Kaizen events, Lean
Projects or Six Sigma Projects). Other: Ensure that Lines, Conveyor
belts, Spinners, Scales, Shakers, Flumes, Urshels and any other
equipment is fully utilized, maintained and monitored. Complete all
necessary paperwork in a neat and timely manner. The company

responsibilities as needed EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School
Education / G.E.D. preferred or applicable certification. Working
knowledge of basic Produce Standards. Strong Verbal and Written
communication skills and be able to communicate across departments
at different levels. Proper English language. Basic Mathematical
