Southwire Job Description
Job Title: Production Planner
Location: Bremen, IN
Reports To: Manager, Materials
Summary:
This individual will join the Production Planning team in the
Bremen, IN facility. They will be mainly focused on the production
planning process in our Bare Wire facilities. This individual will
work directly with other team members in the production planning
group on a daily basis to ensure the efficient production flow of a
24 hour a day, 7 day a week operation.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
---Must be able to see safety risks and opportunities daily, have
interactions around the risks and report them accordingly
---Strategically plan production schedules in order to maximize
plant efficiencies and meet customer expectations
---Work daily with Value Stream Manager and Production Supervisors
on day-to-day issues and meeting targets
---Collaborate with other Production Planners and work together to
meet targets
---Learn all aspects of equipment and products
---Prioritize work centers in SAP/Advaris and work to keep
efficiencies up and scrap down
---Learn how the manufacturing process works and how disciplines
are linked together, even if that means hands-on
---Ensure that all correct process guides, tooling, pick lists
and/or spec sheets are put to the floor each day
---Keep Advaris and SAP data cleaned up and accurate daily
---Use MRP system to drive production scheduling, within the
framework in which it was designed
---Ownership in the routine cycle count processes
---Daily scheduling changes to make sure Value Stream requirements
are met
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
---Must have high school diploma or equivalent; minimum of an
Associates Degree or Technical Certificate preferred
---Able to communicate clearly and professionally, both internally
and externally
---Must have ability and willingness to spend adequate time in both
Bremen Bare Wire Facilities
---SAP and Advaris knowledge
---Flexibility to be able to make scheduling changes during
off-hours and weekends if needed
---Must have excellent software skills including Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint.
---Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment that is always
