Range: $18.87 - $29.73 per hour Rush salaries are determined by

each case.Summary:The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician 2 Certified
assists licensed pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy performing
duties as assigned in fulfilling the needs of the Inpatient
Pharmacy and the Medical Center. The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician
2 Certified will staff in areas requiring specialty training and
technical skills, including sterile medication preparation. The
Inpatient Pharmacy Technician 2 certified exemplifies the Rush
mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush
policies and procedures.Responsibilities:--- Preparing sterile
intravenous medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.---
Maintaining a sterile environment to prevent contamination during
the compounding process.--- Properly labeling and packaging
compounded medications for distribution.--- Managing inventory of
compounding supplies and medications, including ordering and
restocking.--- Performing quality control checks to ensure the
accuracy and safety of compounded medications.--- Keeping accurate
records of all compounding activities and ensuring compliance with
regulatory requirements.--- Performs specialized Inpatient Pharmacy
work in the organization Inpatient Pharmacy areas such as in the
following areas:IV compounding, Chemotherapy, OR pharmacy or
Pediatrics.--- Maintain or establish fundamental knowledge and
understanding in the following areas:a. Basic Pharmacy Knowledge:i.
Recognizes and identifies various classifications of medications,
medication names, dosage forms and routes of administration.ii.
Ability to appropriately label all medication dosage forms
including auxiliary labels for expiration and storage as
required.iii. Responsible for the accurate interpretation of EPIC
pharmacy labels: i. Interpretation and understanding of medical
abbreviations.ii. Identification and differentiation of different
types of medication orders (Scheduled, PRN, Once, STAT, NOW).iv.
Performs pharmaceutical calculations accurately, including
fundamental math calculations, metric conversions, and
pharmaceutical dose calculations.b. Regulatory:i. Compliance with
USP regulations related to compounding, repackaging, labeling and
delivery of medications including but not limited to USP 795, 797
and 800.ii. Responsible for knowing the laws and regulations
related to controlled substances.iii. Maintain competencies for all
areas worked.i. Includes initial competency and annual competency
requirements.c. Technologyi. Ability to utilize technology in the
pharmacy including, but not limited to BD Logistics, medication
carousels, EPIC, RxVerify and temperature reports as needed for
assigned duties.ii. Ability to troubleshoot Pyxis equipment (i.e.:
failed drawers, inventory, outdates, opening service tickets).iii.
Facilitate optimal performance of pharmacy equipment, including,
opening service tickets, troubleshooting, triaging issues or
escalating concerns to pharmacy leadership team.d. Policies and
Proceduresi. Act in accordance with published policy and procedure
documents.ii. Reference policy and procedure documents as needed.e.
Workflowsi. Ability to complete responsibilities as stated on task
list.ii. Ability to differentiate and prioritize patient and Pyxis
specific medication refills.iii. Executing accurate and timely
delivery of medications according to priority.iv. Maintain
inventory appropriately.i. Frequent stock rotation.ii. Maintain
temperature specific medication storage.iii. Maintain PAR levels in
central and satellite pharmacy locations.iv. Perform outdates and
inventory counts as appropriate.v. Training new employees as
needed.--- Maintains CE hours required to retain CPhT
certification.--- Attends department meetings as scheduled.---
