Job Description

Also, there is a 401(k) with an enhanced contribution and matching program. Rate of pay for a Shipping and Receiving Specialist starts at $18.06 per hour and progresses to $21.47 an hour. Plus night premium is another $.50 for second and third shifts. Most positions will start either on 2ndor 3rd (Monday through Friday) and the hours are 2:45 pm. to 11:15 p.m. or 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.

The Shipping and Receiving Specialistposition is responsible for creating shippers per customer requirements, staging, inspecting and labeling of all customer shipments, daily data entry, inventory organization, and proper routing of incoming shipments and rejects. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred for this position to ensure and maintain customer satisfaction. All positions are responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative environmental impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions outlined in the training assessment for this position.

Required Skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Verifies method and mode of shipment for customer requirements. Prepares all documents in a timely and accurate manner.

+ Upon transmission of an Advanced Ship Notice (ASN), monitor, verify, resolve any issues, and print out the ASN documentation.

+ Determine labeling requirements, assemble and pack product containers, prepare and affix bar code shipping labels to customer dunnage or stencils, identifying shipping information for cartons, skids, or other shipping devices in an accurate manner.

+ Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.

+ Must complete daily receiving entries in computer system and distribute paperwork appropriately.

+ Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them

+ Once certified, may be assigned to train, and support new Shipping and Receiving Specialists.

Required Experience

We are looking for someone with ability to obtain and maintain a fork lift license, has experience in logistics and advanced computer knowledge (SAP knowledge a plus). PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. + Must be able to lift up to 20 pound trays and lift and carry up to 60 pound packages on occasion.

+ Must be able to lift rarely 25 pound dunnage from floor level to 43" high stacks to assist with dunnage as needed and rarely lift and carry 60 pound tanks of propane from storage to forklift to maintain fuel for forklift.

+ On a frequent basis must be able to stand and/or walk indoors (and rarely outdoors) in order to transport materials/supplies, label products, and verify parts.

+ On a frequent basis must be able to sit in forklift for intermittent intervals of 5 to 30 minutes and occasionally on chair up to 30 minutes to operate computer.

+ On occasion must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds to move carts with packages up to 50 feet.

+ On a frequent basis must be able to grip up to 45 pounds bilateral to transport and handle materials and tools

+ Must be able to lift up to 10 pound parts from floor to waste level on occasion.

+ Frequent Hand Coordination to handle materials and tools (grasp/lift/carry)

+ Constant visual perception to view materials, read scale, make adjustments and transport materials.

APTITUDES

The following aptitudes are needed in at least a medium degree, ranging from slightly below to slightly above average as compared to the normal population:

+ With minimal supervision, ability to solve practical problems, interpret, resolve problems and issues using a variety of instructions for guides furnished in written, oral, diagram &/or schedule form.

+ Ability to read and interpret documents for customer requirements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

+ Ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with co-workers, departments, customers, and vendors.
