CNC Technician - Dowagiac, MI.
Contract-to-hire position (possible direct placement)
All night Shift positions
PAY RATE: $15.00-$25.00/hr depending on experience

  Summary of the CNC Technician:
  Implement and analyze continuous improvement tests that come from Area Improvement Team meetings and report the results to team members. Train each operator as required in manufacturing, documentation, SPC, and process control. Complete complex machine set-ups as required to meet customer requirements. Maintain the production processes and work in a manner which exceeds the expected efficiencies that are established for the product line. Fill-in for fellow team members as necessary.
  
  
  Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the CNC Technician including but are not limited to the following:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment. Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition
    
  • Perform complex machine set-ups and participate in new process development activities
    
  • Review process capabilities and controls to ensure quality standards are maintained
    
  • Perform improvement tests, collect data, and analyze results
    
  • Train machinists as required in manufacturing, documentation, SPC, and process control
    
  • Work with Machinists and Engineering to continually improve existing processes
    
  • Understand and follow the Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS)
    
  • Ability to perform all essential duties of a Machinist
    
    
    Required Skills of the CNC Technician:
    
    
    • 
      
    • Ability to read and write in English
      
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, operating instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals
      
    • Ability to complete required reports
      
    • Ability to participate in team meetings
      
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers
      
    • Ability to use a computer and to accurately enter data into production applications
      
    • Ability to read production sheets, graphs, and understand their practical application
      
    • Must be able to set-up gage that are used for measuring parts and adjusting machines
      
    • Ability to apply basic reasoning skills to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions
      
    • Ability to detect and identify typical defects found in materials
      
    • Ability to troubleshoot problems involving concrete variables in standard situations
      
    • Ability to read and use various inspection equipment and precision tools, and understand and apply basic inspection and sound measurement practices
      
    • Ability to work 10-12 hours shifts
      
    • Ability to work six-days a week periodically to meet customer demands
      
      
      Education and/or Experience of the CNC Technician:
      
      
      • 
        
      • At least one-year experience to include six-months related manufacturing work experience with a proven track record of required skills and abilities
        
      • Ability to remain productive under indirect supervision and follow verbal and written instructions and techniques
        
      • Basic mathematical aptitude required
