- The position requires a minimum of a HS Diploma or
equivalent.
- Skills and Abilities :
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to assist
in effectively communicating with customers, suppliers, or
employees within the company.
- Must possess reading, writing, and basic math skills
- Understand precision measuring instruments, electrical or
electronic testing devices, drawings and schematics, equipment user
manuals, activity and task instructions
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to rapidly grasp concepts and understand processes
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to prioritize work assignments
- Must be able to be able to thrive in a fast-paced work
environment
- Experience :
- 3-5 years of related experience in maintenance related
activities
- Experience in ultra-high vacuum systems is a plus
- Experience with man lifts, walk behinds, pallet jacks and
forklifts are also a plus

Responsible for daily maintenance, installation, dismantlement,
troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment, essential
building relating components, and tear down, evaluation and rebuild
of vacuum pumps and blowers relational to vacuum casting
technology. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs in
order to ensure that all equipment continue to run effectively, and
facility systems operate efficiently and reliably.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with vacuum pumps and
blowers
- Machine, install, rebuild, and repair all types of vacuum
equipment and support all facilities infrastructure
- Inspect, operate, and test all machinery, equipment, and
building infrastructure components
- Participate in projects and planning events
- Interface with suppliers
- Responsible for identifying, specifying, machining, and using
spare and replacement parts
- Participate, lead, and actively support all necessary training,
EHS, Human Performance, and company or department specific
objectives.
- Occasional need for holiday, weekend or back shift emergency
repair coverage may be required. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Job
responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to,
the following:
- Compliance with all Howmet policies and procedures.
- Compliance with all EHS rules required at the plants
- Dismantle, cleans, assembles, tests and approves vacuum pump
equipment in the rebuild process
- Diagnosis of failures and analyzes repair needs for the purpose
of creating a repair quote
- Maintains all equipment related to pump repair and building
maintenance
- Performs all building related PM work
- Performs repair work on all building related equipment,
infrastructure, and assets
- Ability to weld, braze and solder in a variety of maintenance
activities
- Paints rebuilt pumps and equipment to plant specifications
- Must be able to function as a member of a team, assist team
members when needed, and be able to work under general supervision
in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintains positive customer and supplier relationships
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
